Washi tape cards

Happy 4th!

I just learned this "starburst" technique on pinterest.  It's going to be my new favorite!

All products from CTMH.

Want to try this?  Here's the link to the instructions I used:

Unbelievable deal!

I found this box of plain textured cards and envelopes for $6 at Michaels (that's 70% off)
If you make cards, you know you can't even buy envelopes that cheap!

So here's what I've created so far:

Painting a chevron wall

I did this for my daughter's room this week.  Her wall are light purple and we wanted a dark purple chevron in between.
I knew I wanted the chevrons 8.5 inches wide/apart from each other so I simply cut a 8.5 inch square out of card board for my template.
Then working from ceiling to floor and marked it off and taped it.
I put tape scraps on the chevrons that would not get painted.
Then we painted 2 coats of the dark purple and this is how it turned out!

Do you like washi tape? You NEED these scissors!

Close to my Heart sells these "Non stick micro tipped scissors" for $13.95.  They are wonderful!  No more cleaning gunk off my scissors!

Cute frames from the dollar section

I found these at Michaels and I thought they would be cute in our daughter's rooms.  I simply put a sticker (from CTMH) in them.

Cards ready to give as a gift

My neighbor was kind enough to teach me how to make this card and she punched a bunch of the squares for me.  Sorry these pics arent very good but I have them bagged up for a gift and I didn't want to unwrap them.

Then I made some of these to use up the scraps:

Paper and punches are stampin up,   Little insect stamps are from Micheals, "thanks" is from CTMH, "Wishing You" is from verve stamps

need a good book to read?

I read this book in 3 days.  It's funny and quirky and just plain good!

Pillow re-do

I always hated the pillows that came with our couch so I did a "no sew" cover for it.  Look it up on you tube...it's so easy!

Here's the before and after pictures.

"Skylark" card

I love this paper but I have absolutely no photos that go with it.  It makes a great card though.

June Birch Box review

I love seeing this in the mailbox!

Here's what was in it for this month:

(left to right) Perfume-"Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum" Full size $98. "A fresh blend of mandarin, rose and sandlewood".  I don't like it.  It is too floral for me and kind of smells "grandma" -ish.
Number 4 Hair-Full size $34 and a sample of their conditioner. (Full size conditioner $36)
Vasanti Cosmetics-Brighten UP! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator.  Microdermabrasion.  Full size $34
Coola-tinted Matte SPF 30 moisturizer for the face.  Full size $36.
Gilchrist and Soames body Lotion.  Full size $16.  I have seen this brand in some of the nicer hotels I've stayed at and it's fine but it mostly just smells like a hotel.  ;)
Always fun to receive in the mail though!  It's like a birthday present every month!

I am crazy over this Tim Holtz Tissue paper!

This whole thing started because I wanted to make a pretty tissue cover for my half bath. I had just redecorated the bathroom in burlap and botanical looking stuff. Now I can't stop putting this on everything!

It is called tissue paper but it is a little sturdier and kind of waxy and just plain perfect!

I bought this at Michaels but (hint hint) Tuesday Morning has it also (cheaper) and they almost always have his stuff.  Love it!
The burlap flower was in the dollar section of Michaels.  It was a pin/hair clip.  I just tore that little piece of hardware off of it!

So I couldn't stop there!  I put it on 4x4 tiles and made coasters!

I love how it picks up the color of whatever to modge podge it on to!
More to follow I'm sure!  I am looking around the house to see what else needs covered up! :)
